Subscription with a 90-day free trial, or perpetual licence — scales to the drive count in use
KV Cache Use Case
SupremeRAID AE turns local NVMe into a protected, scalable extended KV cache, reducing redundant computation and accelerating time to first token
Overview
Graid Technology's SupremeRAID product line removes the RAID controller from the data path: instead of a dedicated RAID ASIC, the RAID engine is offloaded to an NVIDIA GPU already present in the workstation or server. That single architectural decision eliminates the controller bottleneck that caps conventional hardware RAID well below what modern NVMe drives can deliver, and SupremeRAID SE reflects the result — 5 million read IOPS and 34 GB/s across up to eight NVMe SSDs in a desktop or workstation platform.
The line spans SE, Pro and AE with the SR-1001 card for smaller sub-eight-drive rigs. SE targets high-end workstations with a subscription or perpetual licence covering four or eight drives, with RAID 6 reserved for the perpetual tier. Pro and AE target enterprise AI and SAN deployments, where AE is positioned specifically as a protected extended KV cache for inference — high-throughput NVMe behind RAID that raises time-to-first-token performance by keeping more of the cache local. Graid has demonstrated an industry-first 100 million random 512-byte IOPS on a protected RAID 5 volume for GPU-initiated IO using 32 KIOXIA XD8 SSDs, which is the clearest statement of where the architecture is heading as GPUs take over storage access.
Compatibility is unusually broad: NVIDIA GPUs from Turing through Blackwell, a supported SSD list covering most enterprise NVMe vendors, and Linux distributions from AlmaLinux to Ubuntu plus Windows Server 2019-2025 with KVM, Proxmox, OpenVZ and Hyper-V virtualisation. QS Compute supplies SupremeRAID cards, licences and the NVMe drives to pair with them; contact us for sizing advice and volume pricing.
Key Benefits
No controller bottleneck. RAID processing moved to the GPU, so NVMe throughput scales as designed. 5M IOPS and 34 GB/s on eight drives. Workstation-class performance from a software-plus-GPU model. Proven at AI scale. 100 million IOPS on a protected RAID 5 volume for GPU-initiated IO. Broad platform and OS support. Turing through Blackwell GPUs, most enterprise NVMe vendors, Linux and Windows Server.
Applications
AI inference servers needing a protected extended KV cache, GPU-initiated IO architectures where GPUs read storage directly, high-frequency trading and financial analytics, media and VFX storage, medical imaging, virtualisation hosts running many VMs, and workstations that need full NVMe performance with RAID redundancy rather than either alone.
