Overview
The ASRock Rack SORANOD8-2L2T is a single-socket SP6 motherboard designed to expose the connectivity of AMD’s EPYC 8005 “Sorano” processors. Measuring 12 x 10 inches, it fits compact edge-server and storage chassis while supporting the full 8-84 core, 70-225 W range of the Zen 5 EPYC 8005 family (and the older EPYC 8004 generation).
The board is built for flexible topology. It carries eight DDR5 DIMM slots as well as five PCIe 5.0 expansion slots, several of which support CXL 1.1, and one x16 connection can be repurposed for up to 16 SATA devices. Two MCIO connectors and two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots further broaden storage options, making the SORANOD8-2L2T equally suited to compute, storage and virtualisation roles where cooling, space and power budgets are tight.
