MPFS250T-1FCVG484I is the 250K-logic-element member of Microchip's PolarFire SoC family in the 484-ball flip-chip package, industrial temperature grade and speed grade -1. PolarFire SoC is a genuinely different architecture from a Zynq-class part: the processor cluster is a coherent quad-core 64-bit RISC-V (RV64GC) complex with a separate E24 monitor core, and the FPGA fabric is flash-based rather than SRAM-based. Flash configuration makes the device instant-on, keeps static power low, and removes the fabric's configuration-SRAM single-event-upset exposure, which is why PolarFire SoC is widely specified for secure edge and defence-adjacent designs. The hardened math blocks, DDR4/LPDDR4 controller and transceivers are integrated on die.
