The ZCU106 is AMD's (formerly Xilinx) general-purpose Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC evaluation kit, built around the XCZU7EV device. It pairs a quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 application processor and dual Cortex-R5F real-time cores with an UltraScale+ programmable-logic fabric on a single die, which is the combination that makes Zynq UltraScale+ the default choice for embedded vision, video transport and broadcast pipelines. The kit is programmed with AMD Vivado and Vitis and is the usual bring-up platform for designs later moved to MPSoC-based production SOMs and industrial boards.
