Overview
The Silicon Motion SM8366 is the high-performance controller at the heart of the MonTitan platform, targeting enterprise and data-center SSDs. It is a dual-ported PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe 2.0 device with 16 NAND channels supporting up to 2400 MT/s, delivering over 14 GB/s sustained sequential read and up to 3.0 million / 2.8 million read/write 4K IOPS.
MonTitan adds OCP Data Center NVMe support, EDSFF and U.2/U.3 reference designs, and capacities up to 128 TB, with NANDXtend ECC (4K+ LDPC), AES-256 and TCG Opal encryption. The dual-port architecture and end-to-end data-path protection suit high-availability AI and enterprise storage deployments.
