Everything else that defines the Pro tier is unchanged: 512 MB of cache, a 550 TB-per-year workload rate limit, unlimited bay support, and a 2.5 million hour MTBF.
Because the two drives share a platform, a mixed 28TB and 30TB array behaves identically from the host side. The 28TB unit is the usual choice when chassis backplane generation, RAID stripe sizing, or a specific enclosure's validated drive list constrains the top capacity to 28TB per slot.
As with the rest of the IronWolf Pro line it ships 512e, carries rotational vibration sensors, and includes three years of Rescue Data Recovery Services alongside the five-year limited warranty.
