Overview

The Samsung PM1763 is Samsung's first PCIe Gen6 enterprise SSD, entering mass production July 8, 2026. Pairing Samsung's 9th-generation V-NAND flash with a newly developed 4-nanometer controller, the PM1763 sets a new bar for data center storage performance: up to 28,400 MB/s sequential read and 21,000 MB/s sequential write at the 15.36 TB flagship configuration — nearly double the 14,500 MB/s ceiling of its PCIe Gen5 predecessor, the PM1753.

Available in capacities from 4 TB to 61.44 TB across E1.S, E3.S, and U.2 form factors (U.2 is limited to PCIe Gen5 speeds), the PM1763 is compliant with NVMe 2.1 and OCP 2.6 standards. The drive is specifically optimized for liquid-cooled server architectures, aligning with the thermal requirements of next-generation AI infrastructure.

Samsung has integrated advanced security and attestation features including TDISP (TEE Device Interface Security Protocol), SPDM (Security Protocol and Data Model), and PQC (Post-Quantum Cryptography) — enabling confidential computing and secure operation in AI and multi-tenant virtualized environments. With expanded telemetry and enhanced error recovery mechanisms, the PM1763 is validated for the first wave of PCIe Gen6-capable servers expected in H2 2026, positioning it as the storage backbone for the next era of AI factories.
