The Micron 6550 ION is Micron's high-capacity PCIe Gen5 data center SSD, positioned as the world's most energy-efficient 60TB-class drive. Built on Micron G8 TLC NAND, the 30.72TB configuration delivers 12,000 MB/s sequential reads and 5,000 MB/s writes at just 20W.
Available in E3.S-1T (7.5mm), U.2 (15mm) and E1.L (9.5mm) form factors, the 6550 ION offers 1 random drive write per day (RDWPD) for 16KB random writes, plus standard and SED+FIPS+TAA security configurations. It is engineered for AI data lakes, object stores, and capacity tiers where density and power efficiency are paramount.
