Overview
The Microchip Flashtec 16-channel PCIe Gen 5 controller is the next generation of Microchip's Flashtec NVMe controller line, positioned as the industry's highest-performance 16-channel enterprise NVMe controller. Enterprise SSD controllers are the bridge between the host's PCIe Gen 5 interface and an array of NAND channels, and the controller's channel count and scheduling determine the drive's random-read IOPS and tail latency.
