Overview

The Kingston DC3000ME is a PCIe 5.0 NVMe U.2 data center SSD family spanning 3.84TB to 30.72TB, built for AI, HPC, OLTP, database, cloud and edge workloads. The 30.72TB model delivers the same 14 GB/s sequential read ceiling as the smaller capacities while holding 9,700 MB/s write throughput and 2.6 million random read IOPS.

For AI pipelines the value is in read bandwidth and quality of service rather than raw peak figures. Kingston specifies 99th-percentile latency below 175 microseconds for reads and below 12 microseconds for writes on the 30.72TB drive, with static and dynamic wear levelling plus on-board power loss protection to keep that behaviour consistent when a host loses power unexpectedly.

The drive is backward compatible with PCIe 4.0, so the same part can be deployed into existing Gen4 servers and carried forward into Gen5 platforms without requalification. Security features include AES 256-bit encryption with TCG Opal 2.0 and support for up to 128 namespaces, which suits multi-tenant and NVMe-oF deployments. All capacities carry 1 DWPD endurance over five years and a limited five-year warranty.

Key Benefits

Up to 30.72TB capacity in a single U.2 15 mm slot; 14 GB/s sequential reads and up to 2.8 million random read IOPS; predictable 99th-percentile latency below 175 microseconds read and 12 microseconds write; PCIe 4.0 backward compatibility for mixed server fleets; on-board power loss protection and AES 256-bit TCG Opal 2.0 encryption; 1 DWPD endurance with a five-year limited warranty.

Applications

AI and machine learning training data storage, HPC scratch and checkpoints, OLTP and database servers, cloud and hyperscale infrastructure, edge and content delivery nodes, NVMe-oF storage targets.
