Overview
The NEXCOM FTA 5190 is a compact 1U edge server purpose-built for cybersecurity, multi-access edge computing (MEC) and AI-accelerated edge workloads. At its core is an Intel Xeon 6 SoC with 36 performance cores and 12 memory channels — effectively doubling the memory bandwidth of previous Xeon D platforms — paired with Intel QuickAssist Gen 5 for cryptography, compression and analytics offload.
Connectivity is unusually dense for a 1U appliance: eight 25GbE SFP+ fiber ports, eight 1GbE RJ45 copper ports and a LAN module slot that supports a PCIe 4.0 x16 card — up to 100GbE via the Intel Ethernet Controller E810, fully optimised with DPDK. Intel AMX adds matrix acceleration for inference and data analytics, while TPM 2.0 and post-quantum-cryptography readiness address long-lifecycle security requirements.
Validated by Intel, the FTA 5190 processes over 4.3 million packets at 20 Gbps with zero packet loss, accelerates open-source analytics via Intel Hyperscan, and improves data-compression ratios by up to 40% with a 27% write-throughput gain using Intel QAT. It suits cybersecurity, Secure Service Edge, CDN, SD-WAN and AI-driven edge deployments in one space-efficient chassis.
