Overview
The Digi IX25 is a rugged industrial cellular router built around a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, combining cellular WAN, edge computing, remote management and secure connectivity in one DIN-rail or shelf-mount chassis. Digi sells it into critical-infrastructure and enterprise deployments where the link has to survive heat, vibration and hazardous-area classification.
The range is split by radio: IX25-5A-1G offers 5G eMBB with LTE Cat 19 fallback, the IX25-RA-xG models offer 5G RedCap with LTE Cat 4 fallback, and the IX25-4A-xG models are LTE Cat 4 only. Some variants add Wi-Fi 6E at 2x2 MIMO across 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz. A soldered MFF2 Digi eSIM with eUICC and SGP.32 support allows carrier profiles to be switched remotely, which removes the need to send a technician to swap a SIM, and there is dual-SIM capability alongside it. Support covers Anterix, FirstNet, CBRS and private 5G networks.
Wired connectivity is four configurable Gigabit Ethernet ports, one RJ-50 serial port selectable between RS-232 and RS-485, and a locking USB-C that can carry power. Gen 9 GNSS covers GPS L1, GLONASS G1, BeiDou B1 and Galileo E1 with NMEA 4.11 and TAIP output. Power can come from 18-30 VDC passive PoE or USB-C Power Delivery, and the 146 x 118 x 38 mm IP30 enclosure carries ATEX Zone 2, C1D2 and MIL-STD-810H ratings across a -40 to 75 °C range.
