Overview
The Auvidea X242 is the first carrier board designed for the NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 module. It preserves the mechanical form factor shared with previous generations (AGX Orin and AGX Xavier), simplifying upgrades, while introducing PCIe Gen5 - each lane now running at 32 Gbit/s instead of the Gen4 rate of earlier platforms.
Compared with AGX Orin carriers the X242 provides a lower total PCIe lane count, but every lane is faster, giving integrators higher per-lane bandwidth for Gen5 NVMe, accelerators and high-speed I/O. Auvidea positions the X242 for highest performance, maximum efficiency and cost efficiency simultaneously.
Targeting physical AI and next-generation robotics, the X242 runs the NVIDIA JetPack 7 software stack including Isaac, Metropolis and Holoscan. It lets developers bring the Blackwell-based Jetson Thor T5000 into custom systems while reusing existing AGX-form-factor enclosures and mounting.
Key Benefits
First Thor T5000 carrier board from Auvidea. PCIe Gen5 at 32 Gbit/lane for higher per-lane bandwidth. AGX Orin / Xavier form factor for drop-in mechanical reuse. Optimised for physical AI with the full JetPack 7 stack.
Applications
Physical AI and humanoid robotics, autonomous machines, sensor-fusion platforms, next-generation edge AI servers, and custom Thor-based industrial systems.
