Overview
The Auvidea X231 is a very high performance, extendable carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin. Compared with the X230 family it adds a unique extension connector carrying two PCIe x8 busses, opening the door to high-bandwidth add-on boards and multi-system topologies that are not possible on standard AGX Orin carriers.
The headline example is the Auvidea M280 extension board, which provides four M.2 Key M slots (4x PCIe x4) and four OCulink connectors (4x PCIe x4), turning a single AGX Orin into a dense storage or accelerator host. Auvidea is also evaluating connecting multiple AGX Orin systems together over PCIe x8 for clustered edge inference.
5GbE networking is integrated onboard, and the X231 runs the standard NVIDIA JetPack software stack (CUDA, TensorRT, cuDNN). It is aimed at integrators who need more I/O headroom than a reference carrier offers while keeping an industrial, production-ready footprint.
