Overview

The Seeed Studio reComputer Industrial R2135-12 is a fanless industrial edge computer built around the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5. In the configuration reviewed it carried 8 GB of LPDDR4 and 32 GB of eMMC, with an integrated Hailo-8 AI accelerator for neural-network inference alongside the CM5's own CPU and GPU.

Mechanically it is a solid aluminium enclosure that doubles as the heatsink, weighing roughly 1.3 kg, which is noticeably heavier than a plastic-cased Raspberry Pi box and reflects its industrial intent. I/O covers dual Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, RS-485 and RS-232, isolated digital inputs and outputs, a 2x15 terminal block, a Nano SIM slot, LEDs and reset controls.

Power is flexible: either 9-36 V DC through a screw terminal or 30 W PoE over the Ethernet port, with a 12 V / 3 A adapter supplied. Seeed ships a ready-to-use Raspberry Pi OS image with documented command-line tests for GPIO, Wi-Fi and the user LED, and the unit can be reflashed using rpiboot with the reComputer-R2x-arm64 image — so the development workflow stays close to a stock Raspberry Pi while the hardware is panel-ready.
