Overview
The ARBOR ARES-2100 Series is an ultra-compact, ultra-slim fanless box PC aimed squarely at space-constrained edge AI deployments. Its 1U profile is intended to slot into dense racks, autonomous mobile robots and AGVs, and narrow industrial cabinets where a conventional GPU edge server simply will not fit. Cooling is fully passive, so there is no fan to ingest dust or fail in the field.
Compute uses Intel Core Series 3 (Wildcat Lake) processors in a hybrid configuration that combines CPU cores, Intel Xe3 integrated graphics and an Intel NPU 5.0. ARBOR rates the platform at up to 40 TOPS of total AI performance, with the dedicated NPU contributing up to 17 TOPS — enough to offload neural workloads from the CPU so that inference for automated inspection, machine vision and object detection runs at low latency without starving the control-side application.
Ruggedisation is explicit rather than implied: MIL-STD-810H durability testing, a secure cable-lock design to stop connectors backing out under vibration, operation from -20°C to 60°C, and a wide 9–36V DC input that matches the power rails found on mobile platforms and in industrial cabinets. Networking supports up to three 2.5GbE ports — the multi-link topology required by robots that must present separate control, vision and telemetry networks — with flexible M.2 expansion and optional UFS 3.1 storage. ARBOR announced the series in May 2026.
Key Benefits
Fits where GPU boxes cannot: the 1U ultra-slim chassis targets AMR/AGV and dense-cabinet deployments that have no room for a full-height accelerator. NPU offload at low power: 17 TOPS on the dedicated NPU keeps inference off the CPU, preserving cycles for real-time control loops. Made for vibration and voltage swing: MIL-STD-810H durability, cable locks, -20°C to 60°C range and 9–36V DC input suit mobile and outdoor-adjacent industrial duty.
Applications
Autonomous mobile robots and AGVs, automated optical inspection and machine vision, 1U rack edge inference, slim industrial cabinet deployments, smart-factory control nodes, and 24/7 unattended industrial monitoring.
