Overview

The Basler racer 2 family covers line scan imaging from compact mainstream sensors to high-resolution, high-speed inspection. The racer 2 S pairs 2k and 4k CMOS sensors with a 29 × 29 mm footprint and line rates up to 172 kHz over GigE, 5GigE or CoaXPress.

The racer 2 L moves to 8k and 16k sensors with two CoaXPress CXP-12 connections and line rates up to 240 kHz, while the racer 2 XL adds a CoaXPress-over-Fiber interface for long-distance, high-bandwidth links. Individual models such as the r2L4096-14gc use the GPixel GL3504 sensor to deliver 14 kHz at 4k.

Basler demonstrated racer 2 at VISION 2026 alongside its integrated machine-vision portfolio, in which cameras, lenses, lighting and pylon software function as a system. Line scan cameras with high line rates and resolutions are required for applications such as battery foil inspection, where repeatability and system stability are critical.
