Overview

The Syslogic Rugged Computer RPC RS with NVIDIA® Jetson Orin Nano™ 2 brings the IP67/IP69 protection class of Syslogic’s rugged line to NVIDIA’s refreshed entry-level edge AI module. Announced in September 2026 alongside the Jetson Orin Nano 2 launch, it targets deployment on mobile machinery and autonomous vehicles — environments where a standard IP20 industrial PC cannot survive washdown, dust or direct weather exposure.

The Jetson Orin Nano 2 generational change is the substance behind the product. NVIDIA’s new module doubles inference performance while reducing power consumption relative to the previous Orin Nano generation, giving an entry-level edge AI computer enough throughput for the person and object detection workloads that dominate mobile machinery and intelligent vision deployments. Combined with JetPack support, models developed on other Jetson platforms port across without re-engineering.

Syslogic’s contribution is the mechanical and thermal envelope. The RPC RS is deliberately compact, fanless and fully enclosed, with IP67/IP69 rated variants operating from −25°C to +70°C. That temperature span covers the range demanded by agriculture and off-highway equipment — cold-start conditions in winter field work through to engine-bay-adjacent summer heat — without active cooling that would introduce a service interval.

Syslogic positions the platform as the gateway into its wider NVIDIA Jetson portfolio, which now spans Orin Nano, Orin NX and AGX Thor-based rugged computers. That matters for programme planning: a customer can start on the compact RPC RS with Orin Nano 2 and step up to Thor-class rugged systems for higher-demand sensor fusion work, keeping the same supplier, ruggedisation philosophy and long-term availability commitment. Units are developed and manufactured in Europe.
