Overview
The MSI MS-C9ZA is a compact, fanless edge AI box PC that packages NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB compute into a DIN-rail industrial enclosure. It targets factory automation, machine vision, smart city and robotics deployments where a sealed, passively cooled computer must sit directly on the machine or inside a control cabinet.
Unlike minimal carrier-board designs, the MS-C9ZA brings the industrial interfaces on board: a 20-pin connector exposes dual I2C, dual UART, quad GPIO and CAN, while an 8-bit isolated digital I/O block accepts 5V to 35V field signals with 1.3 kV isolation. That removes the need for add-in I/O cards in most automation projects.
Expansion follows a modular model. An M.2 2280 M-Key slot takes PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe storage, an M.2 2230 E-Key slot covers wireless or serial add-ons, and MSI offers optional daughter boards for IEEE 802.3af PoE (PSE) power sourcing, 5G cellular connectivity and out-of-band management. Hardware TPM 2.0 and MCU-tracked RTC battery life round out the platform for unattended 24/7 operation.
