Overview
ConnectX-6 Lx is the value tier of NVIDIA's SmartNIC line: 25GbE SFP28 ports with the same RoCEv2, ASAP2 programmability and SR-IOV depth as the higher-speed parts, at a fraction of the 100G/200G price point.
Its distinguishing feature is inline security — hardware IPsec and TLS offload at full line rate, so a host can terminate thousands of encrypted east-west flows without spending CPU cycles. That, plus 512 virtual functions, is why it shows up in multi-tenant edge and vRAN servers rather than in bulk compute.
