Overview
The PM50036 is a 36-lane member of Microchip's Switchtec PFX 100xG5 family of PCIe 5.0 fanout switches. The ladder runs from PM50028 up to PM50100, so a design can size the switch to the exact lane budget of a GPU node, an NVMe shelf or a dual-host storage controller instead of paying for a x100 part.
All members share the same configuration model: programmable partitioning, non-transparent bridging for host-to-host links, and strap- or software-selected bifurcation on the downstream ports.
