Overview
The Asterfusion CX732Q-N is a 32-port 400-gigabit Ethernet switch built around QSFP-DD cages, delivering 12.8 Tbps of switching capacity in a fixed form factor. It runs AsterNOS, Asterfusion's SONiC-based network operating system, which means the control plane is open and fully programmable through standard interfaces.
Where the CX864E-N targets the 800G spine, the CX732Q-N is the natural 400G leaf or top-of-rack tier. Each port supports breakout to 4x100G or 2x200G, so a single 32-port chassis can reach 128 server-facing 100G links — the density that GPU and storage racks typically need today.
Being SONiC-based, the switch is managed through YANG models with NETCONF, RESTCONF and gNMI rather than a proprietary CLI and configuration database. For operators running automated fabric provisioning, that is a substantive difference: the switch behaves like the rest of a modern open-networking estate instead of being a management island.
