Overview
The Silex EP-200N is a pre-validated edge AI system-on-module (SoM) powered by the NXP i.MX 95 application processor. It packages a power-efficient hexa-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU with an integrated GPU, video processing unit (VPU) and image signal processor (ISP), plus a dedicated NPU rated at 8 eTOPS for on-device neural inference — enough to run vision and sensor-fusion workloads locally without a discrete accelerator.
Memory and storage are integrated on-module: 8GB of LPDDR5 and 32GB of eMMC, which keeps the carrier-board design simple and shortens time-to-production. Interfaces cover Ethernet and CAN-FD for industrial field connectivity, PCIe Gen3 for high-bandwidth expansion, and multimedia interfaces for camera and display pipelines. The module is specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C, matching the temperature envelope of industrial automation and medical equipment rather than office-grade embedded products.
Silex positions the EP-200N for industrial and medical design teams building intelligent edge systems that must satisfy demanding constraints on security, connectivity and long-term availability. As a pre-validated module it removes much of the processor bring-up and validation risk from a custom board, letting OEMs spend their effort on the application layer instead.
Key Benefits
Validated foundation: i.MX 95 bring-up, memory timing and NPU integration are already solved on-module, cutting development risk for medical and industrial programmes. Right-sized inference: the 8 eTOPS NPU targets vision, anomaly detection and sensor fusion at the sensor edge, without the power and thermal cost of a discrete GPU. Industrial temperature and lifecycle: -40°C to +85°C operation plus Silex's long-term availability commitment suit products with multi-year production runs and extended field service life.
Applications
Industrial automation controllers, machine-vision and inspection nodes, medical imaging and patient-monitoring equipment, secure IoT edge gateways, and intelligent sensor hubs where inference runs on-device and only results are transmitted.
