Overview
The Banana Pi BPI-M2 Zero packs the Allwinner H3 quad-core Cortex-A7 SoC into a Raspberry Pi Zero-sized 65 x 30 mm board. It carries 512 MB of DDR3 shared with the Mali-400 MP2 GPU, which decodes H.265/HEVC at 1080p, plus a microSD slot supporting cards up to 64 GB.
On-board SDIO Wi-Fi (AP6212 by default, AP6181 / AP6335 options) and a 40-pin header pin-compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3 make it a drop-in for compact Linux and Android edge devices, kiosks and camera nodes that need a small footprint rather than heavy I/O.
Key Benefits
Zero form factor at 65 x 30 mm and 15 g. Onboard SDIO Wi-Fi for headless deployment. CSI camera input for vision nodes. 40-pin Raspberry Pi 3-compatible header reuses existing HATs. Android and Linux images available.
Applications
Compact edge camera nodes, digital signage controllers, headless Linux sensor gateways, STEM and prototyping platforms, and Raspberry Pi Zero replacement designs where the H3 quad-core CPU and 512 MB DDR3 are sufficient.
