The ZCU670 is built on the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC variant that integrates a digital front end (DFE) alongside the RF data converters. Moving the DFE into the device means digital up/down-conversion, channelisation and crest-factor work run in hardened logic rather than consuming general FPGA fabric, which cuts logic utilisation and power in radio designs. It is the platform of choice for teams prototyping radio units and phased-array apertures that would otherwise need a separate DFE device.
