Overview
Kintex-7 was designed as the price/performance sweet spot of the 7-series, and the XC7K325T is its highest-volume density point: 326,080 logic cells, 840 DSP48E1 slices, 16,020 Kb of block RAM, sixteen 12.5 Gb/s GTX transceivers and an integrated PCIe Gen2 x8 endpoint.
That combination — enough DSP for real signal processing, enough 12.5 Gb/s serial bandwidth for 10G/40G line interfaces, and a Gen2 x8 host interface — made it the standard choice for baseband, radar and medical-imaging cards, and it is still specified in long-lifecycle programmes.
Key Benefits
Balanced DSP + serial bandwidth at roughly half the cost of a Virtex-7 of similar logic count. 16 GTX lanes and PCIe Gen2 x8 support 40G fabrics and multi-lane host links. Integrated tri-speed Ethernet MAC saves logic and external PHY glue.
Applications
10G/40G line cards and packet processing, wireless baseband (CPRI/JESD204B), radar and electronic warfare, medical imaging, professional video, and high-channel-count data acquisition.
