Overview
The AAEON BOXER-6617-ASL is a rugged, compact fanless industrial box PC built on the Intel Atom x7000RE Amston Lake series. Three processor options cover a wide power band: the octa-core x7835RE at 12 W TDP, the quad-core x7433RE at 9 W, and the dual-core x7211RE at 6 W. The headline commercial feature is a guaranteed 10-year product lifecycle, which is what factory-automation customers are buying when they specify this class of hardware.
The environmental rating is the other half of the argument: a -20 to 70 °C operating range in a fanless chassis means there is no fan bearing or filter to service, and the unit can be mounted inside an enclosure where airflow is poor. Memory runs to 32 GB of DDR5-4800 in a single SO-DIMM slot, with storage from an M.2 2280 NVMe drive or a 2.5-inch SATA bay.
I/O is weighted toward legacy industrial signal types rather than consumer ports. Six RS-232/422/485 ports on DB9 connectors and an 8-bit digital I/O block on a D-Sub handle PLC, scale, drive and sensor connections directly; dual Intel I226 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports cover the network side; and dual HDMI outputs at 4K60 handle local displays. An M.2 3052 B-Key socket with a SIM slot adds optional 4G LTE or 5G, and an E-Key socket takes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
