Overview
The Samsung BM1773 is the world's first 256TB E3.S QLC enterprise SSD, announced at FMS 2026. It packs 64 high-density 1Tb QLC NAND packages into a single EDSFF drive, giving it the highest integration density of any enterprise SSD and roughly 8× the capacity of a 32TB drive in one slot.
Samsung positions the BM1773 for efficiency: a single 256TB drive consumes about seven times less power than eight 32TB SSDs delivering the same capacity, cutting both rack space and energy per terabyte for AI data lakes, model repositories, and hyperscale warm storage.
