The Kioxia CD9P-R KCD9XPJE7T68 is the 7.68 TB E3.S member of Kioxia's CD9P generation — the successor to CD8P and the first CD-series drive built on BiCS FLASH Gen 8 TLC. With 14,800 MB/s sequential read and up to 2.6 million random-read IOPS, it is positioned for read-intensive data center tiers that have outgrown PCIe Gen4.
Against the outgoing CD8P-R, Kioxia quotes roughly +23% sequential read and +30% random read IOPS, plus a 2.25x lift in random-write IOPS at 7.68 TB (200K → 450K). Active power rises only marginally, so density-per-watt improves at equal bay count.
E3.S 7.5 mm cards fit the current generation of 1U and 2U all-flash platforms. The 7.68 TB capacity is the mainstream step for 1 DWPD data-lake and CDN caches; QS Compute ships the base, SIE, SED and FIPS-SED security variants and confirms which suffix the platform requires before quoting.
