Overview
The KIOXIA CD8P-R is the second-generation PCIe 5.0 read-intensive data center SSD, built to replace PCIe 4.0 drives in scale-out and cloud servers. The CD8P-R delivers up to 2,000K random-read IOPS and 12,000 MB/s sequential read, a 60-80 % uplift over the previous PCIe 4.0 generation on sequential reads.
Base model number KCD81PJE3T84 is the non-SED, non-SIE ordering code for the 3.84 TB capacity in the E3.S (E3.S 1T) form factor. The SIE variant replaces the '81' segment with '8X' (instant secure erase) and the SED variant with '8D' (TCG Opal encryption) — electrically and mechanically identical drives.
Power loss protection and end-to-end data path correction are standard, which matters for write-cache and journal roles where a surprise power cut must not corrupt in-flight data. The CD8P-R is a drop-in fit for PCIe 5.0 platforms from Intel Xeon 6 and AMD EPYC 9004/9005 class systems.
