Overview
The Banana Pi BPI-WiFi5 is a production-oriented wireless router board built on the Siflower SF19A2890S2 SoC. It delivers up to 1.2 Gbps of wireless throughput with full Gigabit wired ports and uses external omni-directional high-gain antennas (2 x 3.5 dBi at 4 GHz and 2 x 5 dBi at 5 GHz) plus a dedicated 5.8 GHz FEM for improved coverage.
Software features target carrier and enterprise deployment: EasyMesh R2 mesh, TR069 remote management, WAPI (SM4) encryption and an industrial low-latency scheme tuned for low data-transmission jitter. Banana Pi positions the board for direct productisation rather than prototyping.
Key Benefits
Up to 1.2 Gbps wireless. Full Gigabit wired ports. EasyMesh R2 mesh networking. TR069 and WAPI (SM4) management and encryption. External high-gain antennas plus a dedicated 5.8 GHz FEM.
Applications
SMB and small-office wireless routers, mesh Wi-Fi nodes, carrier CPE with TR069 management, and low-latency industrial Wi-Fi links for logistics and factory environments.
