Overview
The Geniatech APC888 is a fanless Edge AI Box PC built on the NXP i.MX 95 applications processor. The i.MX 95 combines up to six Arm Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz with a Cortex-M7 real-time core at 800 MHz and a Cortex-M33 safety core at 333 MHz, giving each box a hedged set of compute domains for mixed control and analytics workloads.
The defining feature is the AI expansion path. Rather than fixing one accelerator, Geniatech provides an M.2 slot that accepts Hailo, MemryX, DeepX or NXP/Kinara (Ara-2) modules rated up to 40 TOPS, on top of the 2 TOPS NXP eIQ Neutron NPU already integrated in the i.MX 95. That lets a single box chassis be configured from lightweight on-device inference to 40 TOPS accelerated vision, and the integrated Mali-G310 V2 GPU adds 2D/3D and OpenCL 3.0 capability, with 4Kp30 H.265 video encode and decode handled in hardware.
I/O and packaging suit industrial deployment: dual Gigabit Ethernet plus optional Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE and GNSS, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB Type-C port, and an expansion set spanning MIPI-DSI/CSI, PCIe, CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, PWM and GPIO. The 203 x 174 x 67 mm chassis weighs 1.25 kg, runs from a lockable 12 V / 1.5 A DC jack and is offered in both commercial (0–60 °C) and industrial (–40–85 °C) temperature grades. Linux support is delivered through Yocto 5.0.
Key Benefits
M.2 AI accelerator slot accepting Hailo, MemryX, DeepX or NXP/Kinara modules up to 40 TOPS on top of a 2 TOPS eIQ Neutron NPU gives configurable inference headroom. Six Cortex-A55 cores plus separate Cortex-M7 and M33 domains handle analytics and real-time control in one box. 4Kp30 H.265 encode and decode with Mali-G310 V2 graphics covers multi-camera video analytics. Dual Gigabit Ethernet with optional 4G LTE and GNSS fits distributed gateway deployments. Commercial and –40 °C to 85 °C industrial temperature grades cover both sheltered and rugged installations.
Applications
Multi-camera video analytics, machine vision inspection, robotics perception, intelligent retail analytics, industrial AIoT gateways, smart-city sensor aggregation, and edge inference nodes where the accelerator choice must stay open.
