Overview
The AMD EPYC 9684X is a 4th-Generation EPYC (9004 Series, Zen 4 "Genoa") server processor with 96 cores and 192 threads on the SP5 platform. It pairs a 5 nm compute die with a 6 nm I/O die in a chiplet package, and exposes 1152 MB (3D V-Cache) of L3 cache with a 400 W default TDP.
EPYC 9004 introduced 12-channel DDR5-4800 memory (460.8 GB/s per socket, up to 6 TB) and 128 lanes of PCIe 5.0, which is why the platform became the default host for 8-GPU AI training servers, in-memory databases and virtualisation clusters. The 9684X sits in the 3D V-Cache tier of the stack.
QS Compute supplies AMD EPYC 9004 tray processors and matched SP5 platforms with volume pricing and a 15-day sample lead time. Contact us with the target core count, TDP envelope and chassis to get a configured quote.
