Overview
The AMD EPYC 9586F is a 6th-generation EPYC 9006-series “Venice” server processor built on the Zen 6 architecture and TSMC’s 2 nm (N2) process. It carries 64 cores and 128 threads with a 3.75 GHz base and 5.00 GHz maximum boost clock, backed by 384 MB of L3 cache.
It drops into the SP7 platform, which provides 16-channel DDR5-8000 RDIMM / MRDIMM up to 12,800 MT/s and 96 lanes PCIe Gen 6, together with CXL 3.1 support. AMD rates the part for 500 W default CPU power and lists a 1Ku price of $9,701. EPYC 9006 remains fully software-compatible with the 9005 (Turin) generation, so existing x86 server images and virtualisation stacks run unchanged.
Key Benefits
Zen 6 cores on 2 nm for leadership performance per watt. PCIe Gen 6 I/O for current-generation accelerators and NVMe. High memory bandwidth for AI host-node workloads. CXL 3.1 memory expansion. Socket-compatible software model with EPYC 9005/9004.
Applications
AI host nodes and GPU servers, agentic-AI sandboxes and VM farms, cloud and enterprise virtualisation, in-memory databases, and HPC / technical computing where dense Zen 6 cores and PCIe Gen 6 bandwidth are required.
