Overview
The DDC S-5 is a rack containment platform built for the physical footprint of modern GPU clusters. At 42 inches wide and 96 inches deep it accepts the deeper, heavier accelerator chassis that standard 19-inch, 42-inch-deep cabinets cannot, and it supports up to 100 kW of airside cooling per rack with optional liquid-to-chip paths for further density scaling.
Containment matters because it keeps the hot aisle separate from the cold aisle at power densities where mixing air destroys the temperature delta the cooling plant relies on. DDC adds Dynamic Density Control for real-time airflow and pressure optimisation, integrated electrical demarcation, and compatibility with both in-rack and in-row CDU architectures.
It was shown at NVIDIA GTC 2026 alongside DDC's GPUVault, with initial S-5 shipments beginning in April 2026 — positioning it as the retrofit/containment layer for operators moving existing halls to GPU densities.
Key Benefits
100 kW airside cooling per rack, 42-inch wide / 96-inch deep GPU clearance, optional liquid-to-chip paths, and compatibility with in-rack and in-row CDUs.
Applications
GPU cluster containment, retrofit of existing data halls to AI densities, high-density colocation, and hybrid air + liquid-to-chip deployments.
