Overview
The Advanced Energy (Artesyn) CSU2400AP is a 2400 W common redundant power supply — CRPS — targeting enterprise and hyperscale servers, storage arrays and network chassis that need high output in a standard 1U-or-2U CRPS bay. It is part of the CSU family that spans 550 W to 2400 W in a common form, fit and function, which is what lets an OEM qualify one mechanical and thermal design and then fit different wattages per SKU.
Electrically it delivers a 12 V main rail plus 12 V standby across a 90-264 V AC input, certified to 80 PLUS Titanium with peak efficiency in the 94 %+ band for the family. That efficiency tier matters in a dense rack: at 2400 W per module, the difference between Platinum and Titanium is roughly 100 W of waste heat per supply, which is heat the CDU has to remove. Low iTHD at light load keeps the site power factor clean during the low-utilisation periods that dominate real fleets.
Control and telemetry run over PMBus 1.2, so the host BMC can read input power, output current per rail, temperature and fan status, and can set output limits and sequencing remotely through Artesyn's PMBus GUI. Protection covers over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and over-temperature with data logging — useful when a fleet-level failure has to be root-caused. Hot-swap N+1 or N+N redundancy with the blind-mate CRPS connector means a failed module is replaced without taking the chassis down.
Key Benefits
2400 W in the industry-standard CRPS envelope for the highest-power single-bay server designs. 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency cuts rack-level waste heat and CDU load. PMBus 1.2 telemetry gives per-rail current, temperature and fault logging to the BMC. Hot-swap N+1 / N+N keeps the chassis up through a module failure. Fault logging on OV/UV/OC/SC/OT supports fleet root-cause analysis. One mechanical design across 550 W-2400 W reduces qualification cost.
Applications
AI and GPU server chassis power bays; enterprise rack servers and dense compute sleds; storage arrays and JBOD enclosures; top-of-rack and spine network chassis; hyperscale OCP-style racks with CRPS bays; telecom and edge data center cabinets; retrofit programmes replacing lower-wattage CRPS modules.
