Overview
The CSU1800AP sits in the middle of the Advanced Energy / Artesyn CSU CRPS ladder, between the 1600 W Titanium part and the 2000 W and 2400 W modules. It is the wattage many 2U general-purpose servers and mid-density storage chassis land on once accelerator count and drive population are added up.
Like every member of the family it is a common redundant power supply: standard CRPS envelope, blind-mate hot-swap connector, N+1 or N+N redundancy, 12 V main with 12 V standby, and 90-264 V AC wide-range input. Because the entire CSU line shares form, fit and function from 550 W to 2400 W, a chassis design validated at 1800 W can be offered at other wattages without a new mechanical or thermal qualification cycle — the practical reason OEMs standardise on one CRPS family rather than mixing vendors per SKU.
Control and telemetry are over PMBus 1.2, offering per-rail current, input power, temperature and fault status to the BMC, plus remote configuration through Artesyn's PMBus graphical interface. Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and over-temperature protections all log data, which shortens root-cause work when a module fails in the field. The CSU1800AP-3 variant carries the current safety filings under IEC 62368 CB with UKCA, DEMKO, CQC and EAC marks.
Key Benefits
1800 W in the standard CRPS bay fits the common mid-density server power point. One family from 550 W to 2400 W means one qualification covers a whole SKU ladder. Hot-swap N+1 / N+N with blind-mate connector. PMBus 1.2 monitoring and control including fault data logging. Wide-range 90-264 V AC input handles brownout and international feeds. Current IEC 62368 / UKCA / DEMKO / CQC / EAC filings reduce regulatory risk for global platforms.
Applications
General-purpose 2U enterprise servers; mid-density GPU and accelerator chassis; storage arrays with N+1 power redundancy; network aggregation and security appliances; hyperscale compute sleds with CRPS bays; edge and regional data center cabinets; OEM platforms spanning multiple wattage SKUs.
