Overview
The CSU1600AT is the 1600 W member of the Advanced Energy / Artesyn CSU CRPS family, and the part most often specified when a chassis needs Titanium efficiency at a power point below the 2400 W ceiling. It is certified to 80 PLUS Titanium with a 96 % peak efficiency figure, and delivers up to 196.7 A on the 12 V rail.
Two things make it attractive next to a generic Platinum CRPS module. First, the 10 ms hold-up time at 100 % load: that is the window in which the host can commit in-flight writes and reach an orderly shutdown when the facility feed drops, and it is measured at full load rather than at half. Second, the tight sibling set — CSU1600AT-3 through CSU2400AT-3 — share certificates, PMBus command set and mechanical envelope, so an OEM can offer 1600 W, 1800 W, 2000 W and 2400 W options from one design review.
Management is PMBus 1.2, giving the BMC per-rail current, input power, temperature and fault data, with protection against over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and over-temperature plus data logging. Hot-swap N+1 or N+N operation in a standard CRPS bay means the module is field-replaceable without downtime. Certifications cover EAC, UKCA, UL/CSA, KC EMC and IEC 62368, which is usually the gating requirement for a globally shipped server platform.
Key Benefits
96 % peak efficiency, 80 PLUS Titanium reduces both energy cost and the heat the rack's CDU must remove. 196.7 A on 12 V supports dense multi-GPU sleds. 10 ms hold-up at 100 % load gives the host a real shutdown window. Shared certificates across 1600-2400 W simplifies a multi-SKU product line. PMBus 1.2 with data logging makes fleet failures diagnosable. Hot-swap CRPS keeps the chassis available through a module failure.
Applications
GPU and accelerator server chassis; enterprise rack-mount servers from 1U to 2U; storage controllers and high-availability JBOD; network and security appliances; edge data center cabinets with CRPS bays; telecom central-office equipment; lab and HPC nodes needing Titanium efficiency at 1.6 kW.
