Overview
The NVIDIA ConnectX-8 SuperNIC is the 800G generation of the ConnectX adapter family, integrating a PCIe Gen6-capable switch with the network interface in a single device. The C8180 model 900-9X81E-00NX-ST0 presents a single OSFP cage running 800Gb/s XDR InfiniBand by default, or 2x400GbE in Ethernet mode, on a half-height half-length card with a PCIe Gen6 x16 host interface and an x16 SocketDirect extension option.
Key Benefits
800G per card: XDR InfiniBand at 800Gb/s or 2x400GbE, from a single OSFP cage. PCIe Gen6 host path: x16 Gen6 with an additional x16 SocketDirect extension option, so the host link is not the bottleneck. Line-rate programmability: ConnectX-8 programmeability for SDN, virtual switching and storage offload. Data centre timing and security: IEEE 1588 PTP, PTM, TCXO, PPS and SyncE support with Secure Boot enabled on this SKU.
Applications
AI training and inference fabrics at 800G per node, HPC clusters, storage and NVMe-oF target/front-end networking, cloud and hyperscale leaf/spine builds, and GPU server platforms that need PCIe Gen6 host bandwidth for XDR-class interconnect.
