Overview
The Intel X710-DA2 is the two-port 10GbE SFP+ member of the Intel Ethernet 700 Series, and remains the workhorse 10G NIC for virtualized server fleets: it pairs the Intel X710 controller with a PCIe 3.0 x8 host interface, so it drops into 1U servers without consuming a full x16 slot.
Its practical value for AI and storage clusters is predictable I/O: SR-IOV and VMDq keep per-VM throughput flat as VM counts rise, and the onboard iSCSI and FCoE initiators let the same card front both compute traffic and block storage — no separate storage NIC required.
