Overview
The Crucial P510 is a value-tier PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD built on a Phison PS5031-E31T controller and Micron G9 276-layer 3D TLC NAND. It reaches up to 11,000 MB/s sequential read and 9,500 MB/s write with random read up to 1.5M IOPS, while drawing roughly 25% less power than the previous generation of Gen5 drives.
As a DRAM-less design it uses the Host Memory Buffer, which keeps the bill of materials and idle power low without giving up Gen5 bandwidth. It is backward compatible with Gen4 and Gen3 M.2 slots, making it a drop-in storage upgrade for gaming PCs, SMB workstations and dataset staging on host systems.
Key Benefits
Gen5 bandwidth at a mainstream price · Micron G9 276-layer TLC · DRAM-less HMB design with ~25% lower power · backward compatible with Gen4/Gen3 M.2 slots · heatsink option.
Applications
Gaming and content-creation desktops, SMB workstations, dataset staging, boot drives for virtualization hosts and general Gen5 M.2 storage upgrades.
