Overview

The MSI MS-CF16 V3.0 is a 2.5″ Pico-ITX industrial single board computer that spans three Intel® low-power SoC families — Alder Lake-N, Amston Lake and Twin Lake — on one board design. That breadth lets a customer qualify a single mechanical footprint and then choose the silicon generation that matches their power budget, longevity requirement or supply position without repeating enclosure and thermal validation.

The board is built for fanless operation. Memory is single-channel LPDDR5 soldered onboard at 4800 MHz in configurations up to 16 GB, which removes the SO-DIMM connector from the bill of materials — a meaningful reliability gain in vibration-exposed installations where socketed memory is a common field-failure point. Low power draw and passive thermal design allow the board to hold a wide operating temperature range without a fan.

Display support is dual and independent: one HDMI output driving up to 3840 × 2160 at 30 Hz, plus an LVDS or eDP interface. That pairing covers the two most common industrial needs — a high-resolution HDMI panel for operator interface and an embedded LVDS/eDP panel for machine-side display — from a single board. Networking is a single 2.5GbE LAN port, with storage via a SATA III port and an M.2 expansion slot for additional I/O or storage.

Integration features round out the industrial brief: onboard audio, an integrated Super I/O controller, hardware monitoring, TPM support for platform security, and validated software platforms covering both Linux and Windows. MSI IPC positions the board across automation, transportation, retail and digital signage, and KIOSK applications.

Key Benefits

One Pico-ITX footprint, three Intel® SoC families — qualify once and scale silicon across programmes. Fanless, low-power design with a wide operating temperature range. Soldered onboard LPDDR5 up to 16 GB removes a vibration-prone socket. Dual independent displays via HDMI 4K plus LVDS/eDP. 2.5GbE networking for higher-bandwidth machine connectivity. TPM and hardware monitoring for secure, manageable industrial deployment.

Applications

Factory automation controllers and machine HMIs; transportation and vehicle-mounted computing; retail point-of-sale, digital signage and KIOSK systems; building automation and access control; industrial IoT edge nodes; test and measurement instruments; medical and laboratory equipment requiring fanless operation.
