Overview
The Kontron VX33211 is a 3U VPX GPU board built around NVIDIA Blackwell embedded GPU acceleration. It is designed to deliver four things in the same ruggedised card: advanced graphics, AI inference, sensor processing and general-purpose GPU compute — the mix required when a single mission system has to render a display, run a model on live sensor data and accelerate signal processing simultaneously.
The board is positioned for defense and aerospace, where VPX remains the standard backplane architecture because it tolerates shock, vibration, conduction cooling and the extended temperature ranges of airborne and vehicle platforms. Kontron pairs the VX33211 with its VX307C 3U VPX processor board; the two are integrated together in the HARAKAN-F rugged VPX mission computer, which targets AI acceleration, graphics processing and high-performance edge computing in mission-critical defense and aerospace deployments.
For programs that need compute but not a GPU specifically, Kontron also offers the VX30101 high-performance computing board for real-time edge AI. Together the two boards give system architects a choice of GPU-centric or compute-centric acceleration within the same VPX platform family, launched from Kontron's Toulon facility in June 2026.
Key Benefits
Four acceleration workloads on one board — graphics, AI inference, sensor processing and GPGPU compute with NVIDIA Blackwell embedded GPU silicon. Rugged VPX form factor for defense and aerospace backplanes, and system-level integration with the VX307C processor board in the HARAKAN-F rugged mission computer.
Applications
Rugged defense and aerospace mission computers, sensor-dense ISR and signal processing platforms, autonomous and unmanned vehicle compute, vehicle and airborne edge AI inference, and VPX-based systems requiring both graphics and GPGPU acceleration.
