Overview

The Gateworks Catalina GW9200 is a carrier-plus-system-on-module industrial board built around the NXP i.MX 95 applications processor. Because the i.MX 95 combines six Cortex-A55 application cores, a Cortex-M7 real-time core, a Cortex-M33 safety core and the NXP eIQ Neutron NPU, the GW9200 can run vision inference, hard real-time control and functional-safety supervision on a single board instead of a multi-box architecture.

Its distinguishing hardware feature is the pair of Flexible Socket Adapter (FSA) sites. Each site accepts either a Mini PCIe or an M.2 module, so cellular, Wi-Fi, GNSS or accelerator radios can be changed after deployment without a board respin. Combined with the 8-60V DC input range, that makes the board suitable for vehicles, rail and remote cabinets where the power rail is not a clean 12V.

Gateworks ships the GW11059 development kit with a JTAG programmer and cabling, and supports Linux through Ubuntu and Buildroot. For deployments that need a wider communications mix, the dual Ethernet ports plus FSA slots cover the gateway and edge-inference roles at once.

Key Benefits

2 TOPS eIQ Neutron NPU for on-board vision inference, dual FSA sockets for field-swappable Mini PCIe or M.2 radios, -40 to +85C industrial rating and an 8-60V DC input stage that removes the need for a separate power brick.

Applications

Industrial Edge AI gateways, intelligent transportation and rail systems, remote asset monitoring cabinets, machine vision nodes, cellular or Wi-Fi 6 backhauled IoT aggregation, and ruggedized data-logging deployments.
