The Advantech SKY-641E3 is a 4U, high-performance edge server architected specifically around inference throughput. Rather than a standard dual-slot GPU layout, it uses a specialised PCIe switch backplane that supports up to 12 single-slot FH/FL accelerators in one chassis, giving a superior density-to-footprint ratio for high-concurrency edge workloads.
Announced with Qualcomm as the host for the Dragonwing on-prem AI appliance solution powered by the Cloud AI 100 Ultra accelerator, the system is optimised for hundreds of simultaneous real-time data streams — city-scale video analytics, retail AI agents and on-prem generative AI — while configurable with up to two AMD EPYC 9004/9005 processors and up to 320 CPU cores.
