Overview

NVIDIA launched its Space Computing platform at GTC 2026, extending accelerated computing into orbit. The flagship Space-1 Vera Rubin Module brings data-center-class AI to size-, weight-, and power-constrained space environments, pairing two Rubin GPUs with a single Vera CPU in a tightly integrated module with a high-bandwidth interconnect.

The Rubin GPU at the heart of the module is built on a 3nm process with 336 billion transistors and delivers 50 PFLOPS of NVFP4 compute, while the Vera CPU contributes 88 Armv9.2 "Olympus" cores on an LPDDR5X memory subsystem. Together they deliver up to 25× more AI compute than an H100, enabling large language and foundation models to run directly on orbit — the processing backbone for orbital data centers (ODCs) and on-orbit analytics, autonomous scientific discovery, and rapid geospatial insight generation.

The broader platform spans Jetson Orin for ultra-compact onboard spacecraft AI, IGX Thor for mission-critical edge environments with functional safety and secure boot, and the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition for ground-station processing at up to 100× CPU batch-system throughput. Launch partners include SpaceX (Starmind AI1 satellite, powered by Vera Rubin NVL72), Axiom Space, Cowboy Space Corporation (formerly Aetherflux), Kepler Communications, Planet Labs, Sophia Space, and Starcloud.

Availability: Jetson Orin, IGX Thor, and the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition are available today; the Space-1 Vera Rubin Module is announced and expected to reach customers at a later date.
