Overview
The PolarFire SoC Discovery Kit is Microchip's low-cost entry point into the PolarFire SoC family. It pairs the MPFS250T device — a hardened 4+1 core 64-bit RISC-V subsystem integrated with a 254K LE low-power FPGA fabric — with a compact board that is programmed and debugged over a single USB Type-C cable. Because the RISC-V cores are hardened rather than synthesised, deterministic real-time response is available without consuming fabric, which is why the family is used in motor control, industrial networking and secure-edge designs. MikroBUS and 40-pin HAT headers expose the fabric to off-the-shelf sensor and interface boards, and the design flow is Microchip Libero SoC with SoftConsole. Ordered as MPFS-DISCO-KIT.
