Overview
The ED-CLAWBOX is EDATEC's industrial-grade edge appliance built on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5. It packages the CM5 into a fanless 100 × 100 × 19 mm machined aluminium case that draws at most 12 W, making it suitable for DIN-adjacent mounting in cabinets and kiosks where a fan is not acceptable.
Its defining feature is software: the box ships with JishuShell, an open-source browser-based management environment that installs, configures and monitors agent runtimes such as OpenClaw locally. Configuration data, instance state and credentials stay on the appliance rather than a vendor cloud, which is what makes it usable in privacy-sensitive deployments.
Hardware is deliberately familiar and repairable: quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 at 2.4 GHz, up to 16 GB of LPDDR4X, dual 4Kp60 HDMI outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB 3.0. An mSATA bay provides bulk storage alongside the module's eMMC or microSD.
Because it is a CM5 carrier, the box runs stock 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS and the whole Pi ecosystem — Python, OpenCV, Qt, Node-RED and CODESYS. Teams already running Pi tooling can deploy to the CLAWBOX without a platform migration, and the CM4 variant allows a lower-cost headless configuration.
Key Benefits
Fanless 12 W envelope fits sealed cabinets and 24 × 7 kiosks · browser-based JishuShell removes manual agent installation on every unit · 100% local deployment keeps prompts, keys and configuration data off third-party infrastructure · standard CM5 ecosystem means existing Pi images and tooling carry over unchanged.
Applications
Private on-premise AI agent hosting, retail and hospitality kiosk controllers, industrial HMI and gateway duty, edge video decode for surveillance review, remote-site data collection, and developer staging for Raspberry Pi CM5 products.
