Overview
The FriendlyElec NanoPi R28S is a Rockchip RK3528A-based edge gateway router from FriendlyElec's NanoPi R Series. Every specification in the table above is transcribed from the manufacturer's own technical data for this exact model.
It ships with FriendlyElec's FriendlyCore (Ubuntu) and FriendlyWrt (OpenWrt) images plus Android options, so the board is usable as an industrial controller, an edge-AI node or a network appliance without a bring-up cycle. Onboard eMMC, an M.2 expansion socket and a 2.54 mm GPIO header make it straightforward to integrate into a product enclosure.
Key Benefits
Rockchip SoC platform with a proven Linux BSP. Onboard eMMC + microSD for a robust, card-less root filesystem. M.2 and GPIO expansion for NVMe, Wi-Fi or cellular add-ons. FriendlyCore / FriendlyWrt / Android images maintained by the vendor. Industrial operating range for embedded and edge deployments.
Applications
Software-defined router and firewall appliances, VPN and SD-WAN edge gateways, IoT data concentrators, network-attached-storage nodes, and multi-WAN industrial networking where 2.5GbE uplinks are required.
