Overview
The AMD Kria KR260 Robotics Starter Kit (SK-KR260-G) is an out-of-the-box robotics development platform from AMD's Kria portfolio. It plugs a non-production Kria K26 SOM — built on the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC EV — into a robotics carrier card with an active thermal solution, and ships as an instant-on platform for hardware-accelerated robotics, machine vision, industrial communication and control.
The kit carries 4 GB of non-ECC DDR4, 512 Mb QSPI primary boot and SDHC secondary boot. For vision it exposes a SLVS-EC Gen2 x2-lane camera interface and a DisplayPort 1.2a output; for networking a 10 GE SFP+ port; and for I/O quad USB banks plus four Pmod connectors and a Raspberry Pi-compatible HAT header with 26 I/Os. Security is handled by the MPSoC hardware root of trust together with an Infineon TPM 2.0 for measured boot, making the KR260 one of the more secure robotics development platforms available. The open-source Kria Robotics Stack (KRS) provides hardware-accelerated ROS 2 packages.
Key Benefits
Instant-on K26 SOM robotics platform removes carrier bring-up from the critical path. Hardware-accelerated ROS 2 (KRS) speeds robotics development. 10G SFP+ and SLVS-EC vision support high-bandwidth camera pipelines. Root-of-trust and TPM 2.0 give a secure boot foundation.
Applications
Robotics and ROS 2 development, machine vision and industrial inspection, factory automation and industrial communication gateways, and smart-camera prototyping that scales to the K26 SOM.
